Tuesday, Room 14, 6:45
Notes on "The Death of Hector" and the Greek concept of arete are located here. (I'll stop reminding you of this soon enough)
This link contains an electronic text version of Antigone that will be useful for incorporating sources in your analysis of the play. An inventive, motivated person might even be tempted to compare different versions of the play for analysis of language, etc.
Lostapalooza begins Thursday night in Room 14. We will be watching, over the next three weeks, Season two of Lost on the big screen. Feel free to bring homework; we'll leave a light on to get some work done. Snacks are fine as well.

Deep Thoughts

“Tell him yes. Even if you are dying of fear, even if you are sorry later, because whatever you do, you will be sorry all the rest of your life if you say no.”

“No, it is impossible; it is impossible to convey the life-sensation of any given epoch of one’s existence–that which makes its truth, its meaning–its subtle and penetrating essence. It is impossible. We live, as we dream–alone.”

“so I wait for you like a lonely house
till you will see me again and live in me.
Till then my windows ache.”

“He couldn’t even tell whether he was angry or contrite, whether it was forgiveness he wanted or the power to forgive.”
